Jair Esquivel Guzman was born in Mexico City in 1985. He obtained his B.Sc. degree in Chemistry in 2009 from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He accomplished his M.Sc in Chemistry in 2011 as member of Prof. Ernesto Rivera’s group at the same university. His thesis was based on the synthesis and study of fluorescent polymers. Jair started his PhD in 2012 under supervision of Prof. Michael Turner. His project has been focused on the synthesis of conjugated polymer nanoparticles obtained via emulsion and miniemulsion polymerisation. His target is the use of such nanoparticles in the fabrication of photovoltaic devices. He enjoys traveling, swimming, cooking and he has a great interest on photography.
