Ian began his PhD in September 2009 working on a CASE project with Nano ePrint Ltd., his work involves the synthesis of high performance polymer semiconductors and doping agents tailored towards the fabrication of in-plane-gate field-effect transistors (IPG-FETs).

Ian graduated from Oxford University in September 2009 with an MChem. His masters project, supervised by Dr Mark Moloney, concerned the use of carbene reagents for the surface modification of materials. In his spare time he enjoys karate, hiking and tinkering with his motorbike.
