Ehsan Danesh joined the Organic Materials Innovation Centre (OMIC) as a research associate in 2014. Currently, he is working on iPESS project, developing printed sensors based on OTFTs on plastic substrates. He received his BSc and MSc degrees in Polymer Engineering from the Tehran Polytechnic. He then spent two years as an R&D researcher in the field of specialty polymers for food and dairy packaging industries. In 2011, he was awarded with the Marie Curie Actions fellowship, and joined Prof. Krishna Persaud’s research group at the School of Chemical Engineering & Analytical Science in the University of Manchester, to work on the FlexSmell project. Funded under FP7, the FlexSmell project aimed at the design and realisation of printed chemical sensing RFID tags for smart food packaging. His PhD thesis focused on the development of novel conducting polymer-based gas sensors on plastic substrates.

Ehsan has been an associate member of the Royal Society of Chemistry since 2012. He is also a member of the Iranian National Organization for Development of Exceptional Talents. He has received several awards, including the Wolfgang Göpel memorial award from the International Society for Olfaction and Chemical Sensing in 2013. His research interests include organic electronics, inkjet printing of functional materials, (bio)chemical sensors, conducting polymers and nanocomposites.
