The MLT group’s research covers a broad range of functional polymeric materials and encompasses the synthesis, optimisation and development of these materials for new applications in industry.

Of particular interest is the synthesis of novel π-conjugated molecules, particularly molecular and polymeric semiconductors. These novel molecules are synthesised, characterised and evaluated for use in organic electronic and electro-optical devices such as organic transistors, organic light emitting diodes, sensors, biosensors and solar cells.

Additional areas of interest include conjugated polymer nanoparticles for use in bioimaging, security printing, photocatalysis and down conversion.
